We Support Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish Foundation Greater Virginia Chapter

Our Purpose

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary charitable purpose is to grant the wish of each child who has reached the age of 2½ years and is under age 18 and who has a life-threatening medical condition, i.e., a progressive, degenerative or malignant medical condition that has placed the child’s life in jeopardy.

Our Mission

Our mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Fulfilling a child’s wish provides a joyful and meaningful experience that benefits both the child and the family.

The Greater Virginia Chapter receives new Wish referrals every single day and we are constantly looking for supporters to help us deliver on our mission through valuable donations of timetalent or treasure.

Our Vision

It is our vision that people everywhere will share the power of a wish®.
Since our founding in 1987, the Greater Virginia Chapter has granted the wishes of over 3,600 children.

Throughout our Virginia territory, we currently have over 500 volunteers helping to share the power of a wish® and we always welcome other interested individuals.

We Support St. Jude Children’s Research Hopsital

Our unique mission … … to find cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases through research and treatment. And no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.

Why support St. Jude? The support of caring people like you helps ensure that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will continue its lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children. St. Jude founder Danny Thomas believed that “no child should die in the dawn of life,” and your donations help bring us closer to the day when every precious life can be saved.
